May 17th, 2014 will bring the first DrumLine Battle to The Battle in the Apple. The Battle in the Apple was created in 2006 by the Brooklyn Music and Arts Program as an extension of it’s mission to enhance the physical and social developments of youth through the performing arts. Battle in the Apple is an opportunity for youth to showcase their talents and achievements in the arts. The first Battle in the Apple showcased 13 step teams from the tri state area,10 drumlines from across the east coast, 8 dance teams and 4 marching bands going head to head in an all out music and marching battle. Today it has become the largest and most anticipated event in the arena of high school marching band, dance and stepping. We have successfully drawn an average audience of approximately 2,000 and have showcased over 750 youth participants at the past events and this year’s event is gearing up to be a huge success!

This jam packed day will feature three events:

Event 1: Step & Dance Competition – Doors Open at 12 Noon, showtime 1 pm
Event 2: Drumline & Marching Band Competition – Doors Open at 5, showtime 5:30
Event 3: College & Career Fair – Small Business Expo – All Day from 12 Noon – 8 pm

Tickets are $15 in Advance, $25 at the Door, and they can be purchased at: 2014BattleInTheApple.Eventbrite.com. Spectators can either purchase an All Day Pass or separate tickets for Events 1 and 2. Entry to the College and Career Fair is free with a ticket to any of the day’s other two events.
